This sunday is mothers day so why not make your mum’s day with a beautiful outfit from John Charles! You and your wedding have a put together a lovely feature online on what’s the best occasionwear to treat her to. Take a look at the piece with the link below…
Editor-at-large Peta Hunt discusses her hints on everything mother of the bride for 2012 and tips on how to create the perfect look for the big day!
My fave is 25376 (below)! I love the black, beige and white dress-coat it works for Mother of the bride and is also a perfect outfit for any social event such as Ascot. 25333 (pictured left) is a great look. It enables you to show off your best assets, and cover the tops of your arms! Appropriate for any occasion. Love the beading!
Colours Brights, and metallic’s plus everyone needs a LBD.
Favorite Fabrics Silk jersey, crepe and silk satin.
Silhouettes 50′s style dresses and straight dresses with peplums
Prints Either really bold with a plain top, or very subtle toile du jouy prints in pastel shades.
Put everything on hat/earrings/rings/necklace/bracelet/bags/heels then step back, look long and hard in the mirror and take one thing off. There is a famous Indian saying “there’s no need to announce an elephant” which is worth bearing in mind.
You don’t have to wear your entire jewelry box on one day, rattling when walking is not brilliant!
Jo wood!!! Hippy, modern and stylish. Goldie Hawn, she was fab looking, Miranda (You and Your Wedding Editor) met her in New York recently. Finally Kate moss’s mum looked really cool too on her daughters wedding day.
If you ever wanted that classic Hepburn look, then take a look at this article from the current issue of You and Your Wedding. John Charles occasionwear style 25234 is perfect for this, with it’s cinched in waist and neatly tailored jacket
